Part of the museum was a small balcony that let you look into the pitch.
Most of the museum seemed like a church established for the joint worship of Pele and Ronaldo (shocking, I know.) It was actually really cool to see the long history of Brazil's soccer teams, especially their world cup teams. Brazil has won the Copa de Mundo 5 times, more than any other country, and is the only team to have competed in every single one of the 18 World Cup tournaments. Pretty cool.
This is Getulio Vargas, the guy my school in Sao Paulo is named after. If you click on the caption and can read Portuguese, you can see why he was important enough to be in a soccer museum!
Probably a lot more interesting when filled with fans. Don't worry, that's coming soon.
A couple of shots from outside the stadium of a nearby neighborhood; pictures never do it justice.
After the museum, a few of us went to get our bus tickets to Florianapolis next week. After one week of school, we go on Carnival break.
Looking good, no? (ripped off of google, please search Florianapolis if you want to see how awesome my life will be next week.)
Also, I finally got a cell phone here. After about a week of assembling the right type of phone with the right type of SIM card, then going to three different stores to try and activate it, I made it to the right store and got set up with the use of my broken Portuguese and google translate. This place is teaching me patience. After that, stopped at the supermarket on my way home to pick up some mangas and cervejaz. Life is good.
Did I mention I was living with an artist...?
(my route to the bathroom)
Tchau.
